Charter Trips For Young Students

Posted on

Planning to take students to a venue that is a long distance from the school that you teach at may necessitate the use of a charter bus. Allow ample time to pay transport fees, notify parents of the impending trip, and keep children entertained while en route to the destination you have selected.

Charter Vehicles

Charter vehicles include coach buses, minibusses, and vans. A coach bus usually comes equipped with a restroom. Unless your travel group is small, you will be better off reserving a full-sized charter bus. Ensuring that the students are equipped with a restroom will eliminate the need to ask your charter bus driver to stop at rest areas and other public locations where bathrooms are featured.

Reservations

A larger charter vehicle will cost more than a smaller one. Pricing may be directly tied to how far you and the students will be traveling. The size of your travel group may influence the pricing. Some charter bus companies offer 'early bird specials'. A special will allow a customer to lock in a price. The reservation will typically need to be made in advance.

With this type of deal, you can pay off the amount of money owed for the transportation, as long as you have satisfied the payment before the date of the trip. Once you secured the charter bus and chauffeur services, prepare a memo that you can send to all of the parents of your students.

This memo should relate to the upcoming trip. Include information about the travel arrangements, the venue that you plan on taking the children to, and the cost of the trip. Provide information about when the transport fees will be due.

Boredom Busters

Prepare some activities for the children to enjoy while on the bus. Perhaps, you can make some fun activity sheets that highlight some of the points of interest that your bus will be passing while on the way to the travel destination. Books can also help curb boredom as the bus makes its way down the road.

Keep in mind that the children will likely be very excited when they first board the charter bus. For this reason, avoid introducing the activities at the onset of the trip. Wait until the children begin to show signs of becoming restless. The activities will divert the children's attention and make the ride to the venue much more bearable for everyone riding on the bus.
